Jeera prices declined by Rs 38 to Rs 14,440 per quintal in futures trading today due to weak export demand against fresh arrivals in the physical market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in May declined by Rs 38, or 0.26% to Rs 14,440 per quintal, with an open interest of 5,334 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in June lost Rs 38, or 0.25% to Rs 15,135 per quintal, with a business volume of 21,579 lots.
Analysts said weak export demand amid fresh arrivals in the physical market mainly led to decline in jeera futures prices.
