Jeera prices declined by Rs 33 to Rs 14,880 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reduced their position, triggered by a weak export demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in August declined by Rs 33, or 0.22 per cent to Rs 14,880 per quintal, with an open interest of 5,982 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in June traded lower by Rs 19, or 0.13% to Rs 14,075 per quintal, with a business volume of 12,918 lots.
Analysts said off-loading of positions by speculators on the back of weak export demand mainly led to the decline in jeera prices at futures trade.
