Amid rising supplies and weak exports, jeera futures prices fell by 0.74 per cent to Rs 17,186 per quintal today.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for May contract fell by Rs 128, or 0.74 per cent, to Rs 17,186 per quintal, with an open interest for 5,967 lots.
Similarly, March futures contracts of the spice fell by Rs 66, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 16,275 per quintal, with an open interest of 8,343 lots.
Market analysts said rising supplies from the new season crop and subdued exports mainly weighed down jeera futures prices here but lower output estimates, limited the downslide.
