Jeera prices declined by Rs 38 to Rs 13,469 per quintal in futures trade today due to slackness in demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange jeera for November month declined by Rs 38, or 0.28 per cent to Rs 13,469 per quintal with an open interest of 11274 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in the month of October lost Rs 37, or 0.27 per cent to Rs 13,425 per quintal in 10,812 lots.

Analysts said decline in demand in the spot market against adequate stock position mainly led to fall in jeera prices in futures trade.
