Jeera prices fell by Rs 114 to Rs 13,670 per quintal in futures trading today due to weak local as well as exports demand against adequate stocks.
On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in June fell by Rs 114, or 0.83%, to Rs 13,670 per quintal, with an open interest of 7,416 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in July declined by Rs 112, or 0.79%, to Rs 14,060 per quintal with a business volume of 21,549 lots.
Analysts said subdued local as well as export demand against fresh supply in the spot market mainly led to the fall in jeera futures prices.
