Jeera prices drifted by Rs 94 to Rs 14,845 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reducing their positions, driven by weak export demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for February month declined by Rs 94, or 0.63 per cent to Rs 14,845 per quintal with an open interest of 7101 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in December month lost Rs 73, or 0.51 per cent to Rs 14,166 per quintal with a business volume of 5310 lots.

Analysts said weak export demand against adequate stocks in the physical markets mainly led to a decline in jeera futures prices.
