Jeera prices fell by Rs 75 to Rs 13,271 per quintal in futures trade today on emergence of profit booking by speculators at existing higher levels.
Weak trend at spot market due to sluggish demand amid fresh arrivals also put pressure on the jeera futures here.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, jeera for October-month fell by Rs 75, or 0.56 per cent, to Rs 13,271 per quintal, with an open interest of 9,087 lots.
The spice for delivery in November also declined by Rs 74, or 0.55 per cent, to Rs 13,380 per quintal, with an open interest of 12,564 lots.
Analysts said profit-taking by speculators and subdued demand in the spot market mainly led to a decline in jeera prices at futures trade.
