Amid subdued domestic and export demand, jeera prices fell by Rs 108 to Rs 15,970 per quintal at the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) today.

However, depleting stocks and lower supplies in the spot market, capped the losses.

At the NCDEX, jeera for delivery in far-month April fell by Rs 108, or 0.67 per cent, to Rs 15,970 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,750 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in February declined by Rs 55, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 15,245 per quintal, clocked a business turnover of 11,949 lots.

In the previous session, it ended at Rs 15,300 per quintal, 1.42 per cent down.

Market analysts said weak demand at doemstic spot markets and subdued exports mainly kept pressure on the jeera futures prices here.
