Jeera futures prices traded lower by Rs 64 to Rs 14,970 per quintal today, as speculators booked profits at existing higher levels amid subdued spot market demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for February fell by Rs 64, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 14,970 per quintal, with an open interest of 15,084 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in January lost Rs 39, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 14,500 per quintal, with a business volume of 1,293 lots.
Analysts said beside profit bookings by speculators at prevailing higher levels, subdued demand in the spot market helped jeera futures prices to trade lower.
