Jeera prices rose by Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today on buying support from stockists following pick-up in exporters demand.

Tight stocks position following fall in supplies from producing belts also influenced the prices. Jeera (common) and jeera (best) quality prices rose by Rs 200 each to end at Rs 14,100-14,300 and Rs 16,300-16,400 per quintal.

Traders said fresh buying by stockists following rising exporters demand, mainly pushed up jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.

They said fall in supplies from producing belts on the back of firm cues in spices at futures market too helped to improve the trading sentiments.
