Jeera prices moved up by Rs 48 to Rs 14,415 per quintal in futures trade today on fresh buying by traders on pick-up in demand in the spot market.

Some exports enquiries in domestic markets also influenced jeera futures prices.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for July delivery rose by Rs 48, or 0.33%, to Rs 14,415 per quintal, with an open interest of 8,100 lots.

Similarly, the spice for August delivery moved up by Rs 41, or 0.28%, to Rs 14,840 per quintal, with a business turnover of 18,951 lots.

Analysts said fresh buying by traders on pick-up in spot market demand mainly led to rise in jeera prices at futures trade.
