Supported by better demand in spot markets, jeera prices moved up by Rs 197, or 1.63 per cent, to Rs 12,320 per quintal in futures trading today.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, jeera for August delivery rose Rs 197, or 1.63 per cent, to Rs 12,320 per quintal, with an open interest of 8,676 lots.
The spice for delivery in June contract also traded higher by Rs 113, or 0.97 per cent, to Rs 11,765 per quintal, with a business turnover of 7,491 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in jeera futures prices to pick up in spot demand, restricted arrivals also gave push to jeera prices at futures market here.
