Supported by a firm spot demand amid tight supply, jeera prices rose by Rs 82 or 0.72 per cent to Rs 11,528 per quintal in futures trade today.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, jeera for June contract gained Rs 82, or 0.72 per cent to Rs 11,528 per quintal, with an open interest of 8,880 lots.
The spice for delivery in July contract also edged higher by Rs 63, or 0.54 per cent to Rs 11,784 per quintal, with a business turnover of 11,784 lots.
Firming trend at spot markets on pick up in demand against restricted arrivals, helped jeera prices to trade higher at futures market.
