Jeera prices recover on fresh buying

In restricted activity, jeera prices recovered by Rs 100 per quintal in the wholesale kirana market today on fresh buying by stockists following a rise in demand.

Elsewhere, prices moved in a tight range on alternate bouts of trading and settled around previous levels.   

Traders said fresh buying by stockists on pick up in demand mainly pushed up jeera prices. 

Jeera common and best quality were up by Rs 100 each to Rs 13,400-13,600 and Rs 15,000-15,500 per quintal.

Ajwain 12,700-19,200, black pepper common 22,900-23,100 betelnut (kg) 120-145, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,110-1,125 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,210-1,360

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,310--1,360, cardamom (colour robin) 1,370-1,400, cardamom bold 1,400-1,420, cardamom extra (bold) 1,500-1,520 and cloves (kg) 340-400
