Jeera prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on buying support from stockists following pick up in exporters demand, amid a firm trend in futures trade.

Tight stocks position following fall in supplies from producing belts also influenced the prices. Jeera common and jeera best quality prices rose further by Rs 100 each to Rs 14,500-14,700 and Rs 16,700-16,800 per quintal.

Traders said fresh buying by stockists following rising exporters demand, mainly pushed up jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.

They said fall in supplies from producing belts and firming trend in spices at futures market too aided trading sentiments to improve.
