Jeera traded Rs 35 or 0.28 per cent lower at Rs 12,530 per quintal in futures trading, after speculators reduced their positions following lacklustre exports demand and hopes of higher output.
On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, jeera for delivery in August declined by Rs 35, or 0.28 per cent to Rs 12,530 per quintal, with an open interest of 5,727 lots.
The spice for delivery in July contract also shed by Rs 17, or 0.14 per cent to Rs 12,282 per quintal, with a business volume of 12,282 lots.
Analysts said apart from higher output concerns, lacklustre spot and exports demand also put pressure on the jeera futures prices.
