Jeera futures prices shed 0.77% to Rs 11,970 per quintal today, due to supply pressure in the spot market amid slackened domestic as well as overseas demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the May delivery declined by Rs 92.50, or 0.77%, to Rs 11,970 per quintal, with an open interest of 13,566 lots.

The April contract lost Rs 82.50, or 0.70%, to Rs 11,670 per quintal in 10,770 lots.

Analysts said supply pressure in the spot market amid good harvest and lacklustre domestic and export demand kept pressure on jeera prices at futures trade.
