Jeera, turmeric fall on increased arrivals

Prices of jeera and turmeric fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on adequate stocks amid sluggish demand.  

Market analysts said increased supply pressure of new crop amid sluggish demand mainly pulled down jeera and turmeric prices. 

Jeera common and best quality declined by Rs 100 each to Rs 14,700-14,800 and Rs 16,700-16,800, respectively, while turmeric traded lower by the same margin to Rs 11,200-16,200 per quintal.  

Following are today's quotations in Rs per quintal:

Ajwain 17,500-23,000, black pepper common 28,200-28,500, betelnut (kg) 110-120, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,000-1,015, and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,120-1,270

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 850-900, cardamom (colour robin) 900-920, cardamom bold 910-920, cardamom extra (bold) 1,070-1,100 and cloves (kg) 500-550

Chirounji (new) (kg) Rs 470-520 Dry mango (raipur) Rs 9,500-11,500 Dhania Rs 6,000-10,000 Dry ginger Rs 17,500-22,500 Kalaunji Rs 9,500-10,500 Mace-Red (kg) Rs 1,900-2,150 Mace-Yellow (kg) Rs 1,700-1,800 Methiseed Rs 3,000-4,000 Makhana (kg) Rs 250-300
