Jeera prices rose by Rs 307.50 to Rs 14,325 per quintal in futures trade today on increased demand in the spot market, driven by festive season amid limited arrivals.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in October rose by Rs 307.50, or 2.19%, to Rs 14,325 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,698 lots.

November jeera gained Rs 285, or 2.01%, to Rs 14,485 per quintal in 18,858 lots.

Analysts said increased demand in the spot market supported by festive season against lower arrivals from producing belts kept jeera prices up at futures trade.
