Jeera prices declined by Rs 25 to Rs 15,517.50 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators offloaded positions on subdued demand and increased supplies in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in December declined by Rs 25, or 0.16%, to Rs 15,517.50 per quintal, with an open interest of 13,140 lots.

November jeera shed Rs 22.50, or 0.15%, to Rs 15,100 per quintal, with an open interest of 13,455 lots.

Marketmen said speculators offloaded positions on the back of subdued demand in the spot market and supply pressure, leading to the fall in jeera futures prices.
