JP Associates up on Rs 913-cr Bhutan power contracts

Jaiprakash Associates is trading higher by 3% at Rs 82 in otherwise weak market, on bagging power projects worth of Rs 913 crore from the Mangdechhu Hydroelectric Project Authority, Bhutan.

“The company has been awarded two contracts by Mangdechhu Hydroelectric Project Authority, Bhutan for construction of the two contract packages pertaining to 720 MW Mangdechhu Hydroelectric Project located in Trongsa District Bhutan," the infrastructure company said in a filing to the stock exchanges.

The stock opened at Rs 79.70 and touched high of Rs 82.35 on the National Stock Exchange. A combined 19.09 million shares have changed hands on the counter so far on both the exchanges.
