JSW Steel ended at Rs 1006, higher by Rs 57 or 6.1%, on the BSE. The stock opened at Rs 947, and touched a high of Rs 1,010 and a low of Rs 941 during the day.
A total of 1,157,514 shares were traded on the BSE as against the two-week average of 835,255 shares.

JSW Steel has surged on the back of its crude steel production, which more than doubled to 4.80 lakh tonnes in November. The stock is trading at Rs 977, higher by Rs 29 or 3%, on the BSE.
The company's production of crude steel was 2.15 lakh tonnes in the same month last year.
The production of rolled products (flat) increased 94% at 3.15 lakh tonnes in November this year from 1.62 lakh tonnes in the year-ago period.
The output of rolled products (long) rose by a steep 197% at 0.68 lakh tonnes this November from 0.23 lakh tonnes in the year-ago period.
