Kabli gram surges on tight supply

Barring a surge in kabli gram, prices held steady on the wholesale pulses market today on restricted buying against adequate stocks position.

Traders said rising retailers demand against less arrivals mainly pushed up kabli gram prices.

In the national capital, kabli gram (small) surged to Rs 4500-6,000 against last close of Rs 4,100-5,500 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations in Rs per quintal:

Urad 4,050-4,450, Urad chilka (local) 4,950-5,350, best 5,450-5,950, Dhoya 5,500-5,600, Moong 4,500-5,500, Dal moong chilka local 5,400-5,800, Moong Dhoya local 5,700-5,900 and best quality 6,300-6,500
