KEC International gains on bagging new orders

The company has bagged orders amounting to Rs 1185 crore in India and Rs 251 crore in the international market

KEC International has zoomed by 2.8% to Rs 86 on the BSE after the company secured new orders worth Rs 1,565 crore in its transmission & distribution and cables businesses.

"KEC International has bagged orders in the transmission & distribution businesses, in India, Bangladesh, Oman, Malaysia and America, amounting to Rs 1458 crore. The company has bagged orders amounting to Rs 1185 crore in India and Rs 251 crore in the international market for constructing transmission lines and supplying of transmission towers," said a company release.

KEC International is a leading infrastructure engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company, with a presence in the power transmission, power systems and telecom space.

At 1445 hours, a total of of 3.98 million shares have already changed hands on the BSE as against an average sub-one million shares that were traded daily in the past two weeks. The stock opened at Rs 85 and has touched a high of Rs 87 and a low of Rs 83 thus far.
