Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has moved higher by over 3% to Rs 1,235 after the company said it has won new orders worth Rs 2,935 crore across various business segments in February and March 2014.
In transportation infrastructure business, the company won new orders worth Rs 1,035 crore, which include order received from Rail Vikas Nigam.
The building and factories business has bagged orders worth Rs 562 crore, while water and renewable energy business has secured orders worth Rs 553 crore, L&T said in a statement.
The company’s power transmission and distribution business has bagged new orders worth of Rs 502 crore in domestic and international market, and additional orders worth Rs 283 crore have been received from various ongoing jobs of the metallurgical and material handling and heavy civil infrastructure business, it added.
The stock opened at Rs 1,189 and hit a 52-week high of Rs 1,236 on the NSE. A combined 2.77 million shares changed hands on the counter so far on the NSE and BSE.
