Taking cues from the strong global markets, the Sensex opened with a positive gap of 107 points at 14,171. The index soon rallied to a high of 14,269, and thereafter displayed range-bound movement for a major part of the trading day.Aggressive selling in late noon trades, however, saw the index erase gains and slip into a negative zone, to a low of 14,058 - down 211 points from the day's high. The Sensex finally ended with a gain of 20 points at 14,083.The market breadth turned negative at close - out of 2,620 stocks traded, 1,364 declined, 1,171 advanced and 85 were unchanged.MOVERS & SHAKERSHero Honda soared over 3% to Rs 703. ITC and Hindalco surged 2% each to Rs 154 and Rs 161, respectively.HDFC and Infosys rallied around 1.5% each to Rs 1,779 and Rs 1,980, respectively.Reliance Communications and Grasim dropped around 2% each to Rs 505 and Rs 2,347, respectively.SBI, Dr.Reddy's, Tata Steel and Wipro were down around 1% each at Rs 1,340, Rs 625, Rs 580 and Rs 542, respectively.VALUE & VOLUME TOPPERSReliance topped the value chart with a turnover of Rs 114.50 crore followed by Nitin Fire (Rs 92.25 crore), Reliance Communications (Rs 61.40 crore), Indiabulls Real (Rs 59.50 crore) and Infosys (Rs 55.65 crore).G V Films led the volume chart with trades of around 78 lakh shares followed by Reliance Natural (72 lakh), IFCI (70.35 lakh), Silverline (49 lakh) and Dena Bank (37.55 lakh).
