Tracking weak overseas trend and subdued domestic demand, lead prices went down by 0.48% to Rs 103.80 per kg in futures trading today as speculators trimmed their positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in July shed 50 paise, or 0.48%, to Rs 103.80 per kg in business turnover of 2,742 lots.

The August contract weakened by 35 paise, or 0.33%, to Rs 104.90 per kg in 206 lots.

Market analysts said low domestic demand and a weak trend in base metals in global markets influenced lead prices.

Meanwhile, lead declined 0.7% to $1,848 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
