Tracking a weak global trend, lead prices softened by Rs 0.55 to Rs 101.10 per kg in futures trade today on subdued demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for September month declined by Rs 0.55, or 0.54 per cent to Rs 101.10 per kg with a business turnover of 10 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in October month traded lower by Rs 0.45, or 0.44 per cent to Rs 101.85 per kg in a business volume of 5 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in lead futures to weakness in entire base metals in overseas markets.

Meanwhile, lead declined 1.3 per cent to $2,270 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
