Tracking weak trend in the entire base metals, lead fell by 0.65 per cent, to Rs 99.25 per kg in futures trading today.

A weak trend in base metals at physical markets due to slack demand too weighed on the lead futures.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, lead for October weakened by 65 paise, or 0.65 per cent, to Rs 99.25 per kg, clocked a turnover of 48 lots.

The metal for delivery in current-month September contract also traded 55 paise, or 0.56 per cent, down at Rs 98.20 per kg, with a business turnover of 515 lots.

Market analysts attributed the fall in lead futures to weakness in entire base metals and absence of overseas cues ahead of the US Federal Reserve meeting.
