Lead falls by 0.5% on weak spot demand

A weakening trend in the entire base metals at LME also affected prices

Lead prices traded lower by 0.46% to Rs 141.10 per kg in futures trade today on weak demand in the spot market amid a lower global trend.
 
At the Multi Commodity exchange, lead for delivery in August traded lower by 65 paise, or 0.46% to Rs 141.10 per kg in business turnover of 2,171 lots.
 
Likewise, the metal for delivery in September weakened by 40 paise, or 0.42% to Rs 140.95 per kg in 338 lots.

Market analysts said besides weak demand from battery-makers in the spot market, a weakening trend in the entire base metals at the London Metal Exchange, mainly influenced lead prices at futures trade.
 
Meanwhile, lead slid 0.6% to $2,234 dollar a tonne at the London Metal Exchange.
