Lead futures prices traded 1.44 per cent down at Rs 116.05 per kg today as speculators offloaded their positions amid weak trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in April declined by Rs 1.70, or 1.44 per cent, to Rs 116.05 per kg, with a business turnover of just one lot.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in February traded lower by Rs 1.35, or 1.17 per cent, to Rs 114.30 per kg, with a business volume of five lots.
Market analysts said weak trend in the entire base metals pack overseas on concern that prevailing geopolitical tensions may derail the global economic recovery and weak trend at the domestic spot markets on sluggish demand mainly put pressure on the lead futures prices here.
At the London Metal Exchange, lead fell by 1.1 per cent to $2,538 per tonne.
