Lead futures down 0.48% on subdued demand

The November contract fell by similar margin to trade at Rs 113 per kg, with a trade volume of 182 lots

Lead futures prices today fell by 0.49% to Rs 112.90 per kg, as speculators locked-in gains amid subdued spot demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the October contract for lead shed 55 paise, or 0.48%, to Rs 112.90 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,883 lots.

The November contract fell by similar margin to trade at Rs 113 per kg, with a trade volume of 182 lots.

Market analysts said apart from profit-booking by speculators, sluggish spot demand also kept pressure on the lead futures prices but metal's gains at the London Metal Exchange (LME), restricted the losses.

Meanwhile, lead up 0.41% to $2,139.75 per tonne on the LME.
