Taking positive cues from global markets and strong domestic demand, lead prices rose by 0.43 per cent to Rs 115.85 per kg in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in February fell by 50 paise, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 115.85 per kg, with a trade turnover of 10 lots.

The metal for delivery in March contract also edged higher by 35 paise, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 116.10 per kg, with a business turnover of three lots.

Market analysts said apart from pick-up in demand at the spot market from battery makers, gains in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) also influenced the lead futures prices.

At the LME lead rose 0.6 per cent to $2,526 a tonne.
