Lead futures prices today traded Rs 0.40, or 0.40 per cent higher, at Rs 99.30 per kg, as speculators enlarged their positions, after taking positive cues from global markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, the August contract of lead gained Rs 0.40, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 99.30 per kg, with a turnover of eight lots.

The metal contract for delivery in September also inched up by Rs 0.15, or 0.35 per cent to Rs 100.25 per kg, clocked a turnover of 4 lots.

Analysts said firming trend in copper and other base metals at global markets and pick up in demand from battery makers at the physical markets, influenced lead prices in futures trade here.
