In range-bound movements, lead prices rose by 0.21 per cent to Rs 121.55 per kg in futures trade today, supported by a rise in demand at the spot market, amid firming trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME).

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, lead for delivery in January gained 25 paise, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 121.55 per kg, with a business turnover of 12 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in February gained 20 paise, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 122.15 per kg, with a business turnover of three lots.

Market analysts said pick-up in demand from battery manufacturers and gains in metal at the LME influenced lead prices at futures trade.

Globally, lead advanced 0.2 per cent to $2,660 a tonne at the LME.
