Lead futures trade higher on fresh demand

Lead prices traded marginally higher by 0.43% to Rs 116.10 per kg in futures trade today on fresh demand from battery-makers.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in June traded higher by 50 paise, or 0.43%, to Rs 116.10, with a business turnover of 2,200 lots.

Likewise, the July metal edged up by 45 paise, or 0.39%, to Rs 116.65, with an open interest of 460 lots. 

Traders said pick-up in demand from battery-makers kept lead futures price higher. Meanwhile, lead was trading at $2,278 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
