Lead futures traded higher by 0.28% to Rs 106.80 per kg today, on fresh buying by speculators, taking cues from a firming trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, January lead edged up by Rs 30 paise, or 0.28%, to Rs 106.80 per kg, with a business turnover of 311 lots.
The December contract traded higher by 15 paise, or 0.14%, to Rs 105.75 per kg in 722 lots.
Market analysts said fresh buying by speculators on the back of a firming global trend mainly helped lead futures prices to trade higher.
Pick-up in demand from battery-makers in the spot market also supported the uptrend in lead, they said.
Meanwhile, lead gained 0.4% to $2,006.25 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
