Lead prices continued on their upward trajectory and rose Rs 0.30, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 82.85 per kg in futures trading today, taking cues from the firming trend overseas amid good spot demand in domestic markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in July contract was up by Rs 0.30, or 0.36 per cent, at Rs 82.85 per kg, with a business turnover of 9 lots.

The metal for delivery in August contract edged up by Rs 0.25, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 84 per kg, with a trading volume of six lots.

Market analysts said the firming trend in the entire base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange and a pick up in demand in domestic spot markets also supported the rise in lead prices here.

Meanwhile, at the London Metal Exchange, lead rallied 0.60 per cent to $1,775 per tonne.
