Buoyed by a firm global trend and rising domestic demand, lead futures traded a shade higher at Rs 121.20 per kg today on buying by speculators.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in June traded higher by 25 paise, or 0.21%, to Rs 121.20 per kg in business turnover of 996 lots.

Similarly, lead for delivery in July contracts moved up by 20 paise, or 0.16%, to Rs 121.90 per kg in 65 lots.

Market analysts said apart from better demand in domestic spot market, firm global trend in base metals after better- than-expected US retail sales and jobs data boosted the outlook for demand, mainly influenced lead prices at futures trade.
