Lead futures were up 0.8% at Rs 137.80 per kg on rising spot demand and positive cues from global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in January traded Rs 1.15, or 0.84%, higher at Rs 137.80 per kg, with a turnover of 339 lots.
The metal for delivery in February also rose by Rupee one, or 0.73%, to trade at Rs 138.75 per kg, in a business turnover of 13 lots.
Marketmen said besides strong domestic demand from battery-makers, a firm trend in the entire base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange, influenced lead prices at futures trade here.
