Lead prices weakened by 0.18% to Rs 108.35 per kg in the futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions, driven by a weak demand from battery-makers in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in March traded lower by 20 paise, or 0.18%, to Rs 108.35 per kg in business turnover of 2,022 lots.
The April contract shed 10 paise, or 0.09%, to Rs 109.60 per kg in 78 lots.
Market analysts said sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market mainly helped lead prices to trade marginally lower at futures market.
