Lead futures weakened by 0.19% to Rs 102.65 per kg today on sluggish demand from battery makers in the spot market amid a weak trend in overseas markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, March lead traded higher by 20 paise, or 0.19% to Rs 102.65 per kg in business turnover of 2,177 lots.
The April contract shed 10 paise, or 0.10%, to Rs 104.30 per kg in 24 lots.
Market analysts said apart from sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market and a weak trend in base metals in global markets helped lead futures prices to trade lower.
Meanwhile, lead fell by 1.1% to $2,022.50 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
