LSE holds its annual general meeting

The 24th annual general meeting of the Ludhiana Stock Exchange Ltd (LSE) was held today under the chairmanship of LSE Broker Director Ravinder Kumar Bansal.
 
LSE Executive Director HS Sidhu congratulated the members of the exchange for the latest and one of the most important developments of the Exchange in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the LSE and the National Stock Exchange (NSE), giving back the exchange its listing rights.
 
Sidhu also expressed his firm conviction that the signing of the agreement with the NSE would go along way in helping the LSE.
 
He also said by starting of the Certification Programme on capital market, in association with the Punjab University, Chandigarh, the LSE has become the first regional Stock Exchange in the country to start such a programme.
 
"Three batches of the course have already been completed successfully", he said.
 
Later on in the meeting the audited balance sheet and profit and loss account was passed and the house unanimously adopted the Auditors Report for the year ended March 31, 2006.
 
After that, Dharam Pal Gandhi was unanimously elected Broker Director. Sidhu informed the members that the Exchange had also been felicitated with formation of an Investors Association, registered under the Societies Registration Act.
