Maize rises on increased offtake

Maize prices gained Rs 20 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale market today on increased industrial offtake.

Elsewhere, wheat and other commodities moved in a narrow range on restricted buying and settled around previous levels.

Traders said increased industrial offtake amid tight supply mainly pushed up wholesale maize prices.

In the national capital, maize prices firmed by Rs 20 to Rs 1,000-1,010 per quintal.
