Makhana rises on pick up in demand

Makhana prices gained Rs 10 per kg on pick up in demand due to marriage season in an otherwise steady on the wholesale kirana market today.  

Traders said pick up in retailers demand in view of the ongoing marriage season mainly led to rise in makhana prices.

In the national capital, makhana prices moved up by Rs 10 to Rs 280-390 per kg.

Following are today's quotations (per quintal):

Ajwain 12,500-19,000, black pepper common 23,600-23,800 betelnut (kg) 120-145, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,040-1,050 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,175-1,350

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,100-1,180, cardamom (colour robin) 1,150-1,170, cardamom bold 1,180-1,190, cardamom extra (bold) 1,300-1,320 and cloves (kg) 330-390

Chirounji (new) (kg) Rs 450-480 Dry mango (raipur) Rs 7,000-9,500 Dhania Rs 5,200-9,700 Dry ginger Rs 20,000-24,500 Kalaunji Rs 11,500-12,500 Mace-Red (kg) Rs 1,780-1,950 Mace-Yellow (kg) Rs 1,650-1,850
