Marico Kaya slips on weak March quarter earnings

The stock dipped 12% to Rs 1,550 on the NSE.

Marico Kaya Enterprises has slipped 12% to Rs 1,550 on the NSE after reporting single digit growth in consolidated net profit at Rs 7.2 crore for the quarter ended March 2015 (Q4). The company had registered a profit of Rs 6.8 crore in December 2014 quarter.

Consolidated revenue from operations grew 12% at Rs 86.90 crore on year on year basis.

“Consolidated operating EBIDTA is Rs 8.2 crore, 9% of revenue, a growth of 6% over Q4 last year, impacted by new clinics & KSB openings during the quarter,” Marico Kaya said in a statement.

In March 2015 quarter, domestic business recorded a net revenue growth of 15% with same store growth (SSG) of 12% and international business delivered overall growth of 9% with SSG at the rate of constant currency of 5%, respectively, it added.

The stock opened at Rs 1,634 and touched a low of Rs 1,518 on the NSE. A combined 240,738 shares changed hands on the counter on the NSE and BSE till 1020 hours.

Meanwhile, in past 12 trading sessions, the stock declined by 32% from its record closing high of Rs 2,278 on April 10, 2015. The CNX Nifty was down 6% during the same period.
