After touching a low of 20,084, the markets have movedup and is currently at 20,133, up 15 points while the Nifty continues to be flat at 6038. In the broader markets, there was some improvement. The smallcap and the midcap index has inched ahead at 0.4% each. The benchmark index continues to underperform at 0.08%.
In the smallcap index, 335 scrips have advanced while 161 have declined. The movers here are Tanla Solutions up 18%, Ganesh Housing adding 12%, Piramal Glass gaining 11% and Force Motors moving up by 8%.168 scrips have moved north while 97 have gone south in the midcap space.Madras Cements up 4% followed by BGR Energy, India Cements, Whirlpool, Prism Cement gaining 3% each are the gainers in this space.
On the BSE sectoral indices, Capital Goods, up 0.6% continues to lead closely followed by Power, Consumer Durables and PSU. However, Bankex, IT and Oil & Gas has slipped into the red. Teck index which opened in negative has moved ahead and is up nearly 0.2%.The gainers in the Capital Goods space are ABB up 2%, Suzlon Energy, Usha Martin gaining 1.5% and Gammon India adding 1%.
Reliance Communications continue to lead the Sensex gainers chart followed by NTPC, ACC, Jindal Steel,Mahindra & Mahindra and BHEL adding 1% each.
The losers on the Sensex are HDFC down nearly 1%, Hindustan Unilever,Tata Motors, Sterlite and ICICI Bank losing 0.4% each.
The market breadth remains positive. 1582 stocks have davanced while 924 have declined.
