Market pulse for agro commodities: Mangal Keshav

Arrivals of chilli crop has increased to more than 1.5lakh bags while demand remains firm among local buyers, but exporters still await a price decline at auctions held at Guntur market. Spot rates were down & quoted at '50-'55 per kg.

Arrivals of jeera crop increased to more than 50,000bags while trades are seen steady between 48,000-50,000 bags at auctions held at Unjha market. Spot rates were steady & quoted at '128-'130 per kg, as per local traders.

Spot rates of pepper garbled declined to '361 per kg and that of un-garbled was down at '346 per kg while arrivals declined to 13 tons & the same were traded at auctions held at Kochi market, as per IPSTA.

Arrivals of turmeric crop increased to 30,000 bags & the same were traded at auctions held at Nizamabad, while supply at mandis of Erode stood ~4,000 bags & at sangli market about 3,000 bags. Spot rates were up & quoted at '60-'63 per kg, as per local traders.

Average price of small cardamom declined to '606.3 per kg while maximum price offered was down at '895 per kg, as per spice board.

Total inflow of small cardamom crop declined to 31 tons from which ~27 tons were sold at CPA auction held at Santhanpara.

Arrivals of Soya bean crop declined to about 0.6-0.7lakh bags across MP market & down ~1,000 bags at mandis of Indore while supply eased to about 15,000 bags at mandis of Rajasthan, but increased to 25,000 bags at mandis of Maharashtra, as per trade reports.

Spot rates of soya bean crop offered by planters were up at '40-'41 per kg while rates across mandis of Indore increased to '39-'40 per kg, as per local traders.

Inflow of mustard seed crop increased to 178,066 quintals, while average of closing spot rates were up at '3,084.8 per quintal, as per agriculture marketing board of Rajasthan.

Total arrivals of mustard seed crop increased to about 6.5lakh bags across major trading center while spot rates were up & quoted between '36- '37.5 per kg based on quality & location, as per market reports.

Chana futures continued their positive trend on the exchange counter, due to steady supply in the market coupled with firm demand among local buyers. Spot rates too were up at '35-'36 per kg, across major trading centers.

Mentha oil futures closed lower on increased selling at higher levels after last sessions shortcovering. However, spot rates were up marginally by '5-'7 per kg, supported by local buying & steady supply of about 250 drums.
