Market pulse for agro commodities : Mangal Keshav

Spot rates of soya bean crop offered by planters were down at '39.5-'40 per kg while rates across major mandis declined to '38.5-'39 per kg, as per local traders.

Arrivals of chilli crop stood at 0.75-0.8lakh bags; however trades have declined as buyers/ exporters await prices to decline further. Spot rates were down & quoted at '54-'58 per kg, based on crop quality.

Arrivals of jeera crop increased to about 35,000 bags; however trades were steady ~25,000 bags at auctions held at Unjha market. Spot rates were down & quoted around '125 per kg at Unjha market, as per local traders.

Spot rates of pepper garbled was unchanged at '359 per kg and that of un-garbled was steady at '344 per kg while arrivals increased to 26 tons & the same were sold at auctions held at Kochi market, as per IPSTA.

Arrivals of turmeric crop increased at ~32,000 bags (20,000 from farmers & 12,000 previous days unsold quantity) at Nizamabad, while supply at mandis of Erode increased to 7,000-7,500 bags. Spot rates were down & quoted at '55-'58 per kg, as per local traders.

Average price of small cardamom declined to '646.7 per kg while maximum price offered was down at '906 per kg, as per spice board. Total inflow of small cardamom crop declined to 86.5 tons from which ~86.3 tons were sold at CPMC auction held at Kumily.

Arrivals of Soya bean crop eased slightly to ~0.7- 0.8lakh bags at MP market & about 2,500-3,000 bag at mandis of Indore while arrivals of about 15,000 bags were reported at Rajasthan & ~25,000 bags across mandis of Maharashtra, as per local traders.

Inflow of mustard seed crop declined to 183,031 quintals, while average of closing spot rates were down at '3,099 per quintal, as per agriculture marketing board of Rajasthan. Total arrivals of mustard seed crop were unchanged from previous day at ~6lakh bags across major trading center while spot rates were down & quoted at '33.5-'35.5 per kg based on quality & location, as per market reports.

Chana futures recovered from early losses to close higher by more than 1.5%, supported by bargain buying at lower levels. Spot rates were steady & quoted at '35-'36 per kg while average daily supply is increasing in the market coupled with good demand along local buyers.

Mentha oil futures again declined on increased selling at higher levels while spot rates were steady above '1,050 per kg. Arrivals are down to 90-100 drums; but trades remain negligible which weighing on prices.
