Markets at 9 am: Sensex, Nifty up in early trades

The markets opened in negative territory this early morning. From today onwards the exchanges will be open for trade from 0900 - 1530 hrs.

The Sensex opened at 17,378, but soon rebounded into green and is now up 55 points at 17,520.

The Nifty is up 20 points at 5,221.

Asian markets are mostly up with the Nikkei up as much as 1%. The US markets however were down on Friday.
